This is exactly where Suisse Velo offers a comprehensive solution.

About Suisse Velo

Suisse Velo is a leading provider of specialized bicycle and e-bike insurance in Switzerland. The tailor-made insurance packages protect against theft, damage, breakdowns and repair costs.
In addition, the Lost & Found service with the Bikefinder vignette ensures that a lost bike can be traced back to the buyer with a higher probability.

The e-bike warranty extension & insurance package is one of the most comprehensive insurance solutions and offers optimum protection for bicycles and e-bikes with a value of up to CHF 6,000.
It includes the following:

Theft protection – If the bike is stolen, the damage will be reimbursed
Damage protection – repair costs after an accident or fall are covered (10% excess, min. CHF 100).
Breakdown assistance – In the event of a breakdown, transportation to the nearest garage is organized and covered.
Replacement bike – During a lengthy repair, the cost of a rental bike can be reimbursed up to CHF 500.
Bikefinder vignette with Lost & Found Service – The Bikefinder vignette increases the chance of getting a lost or stolen bike back.
Warranty extension of 24 months – This warranty extension ensures long-term value retention and additional security.

The insurance must be taken out within 30 days of purchasing the e-bike in order to enjoy full insurance cover.
This applies to both new and used bikes.

The insurance comes into force immediately upon conclusion of the contract.
The insurance is valid for 12 months and is not automatically extended for a further year.
Exception: the warranty extension is valid for the entire period of validity (24 months) with the initial one-off payment

The potential extension of the insurance is subject to the then current conditions and rates of Suisse Velo.
The insurance can be terminated at any time before the end of the insurance year, whereby a notice period of 30 days before the end of the current period of validity must be observed.

Important information in the event of damage

All processing, communication and payment is handled directly by Suisse Velo.

In the event of a Claims the insurance is valid for the entire duration of the contract as long as the incident is within the current insurance period.
In the event of damage or an insurance claim, you should contact Suisse Velo customer service immediately.

This is how you proceed:

  1. Report damage: Contact customer service within 48 hours of the incident. This can be done by telephone or via the Suisse Velo online portal.
  2. Provide relevant information: Provide all necessary details about the incident, including a description of the damage and, if applicable, a theft report to the police.
  3. Receive support: Velo Suisse customer service will guide you through the entire process and help you to take all the necessary steps to ensure a quick claims settlement.
    Insurance number and contract details should always be kept to hand to enable prompt processing.
